The jazz event of the year! Hosted by actress and singer Gloria Reuben, and in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Jazz Live International Festival, with music made famous by legendary Pittsburghers. This star-studded concert features Roger Humphries, David Budway, Sean Jones and Dwayne Dolphin honoring Kenny Clark, Art Blakey, Tommy and Stanley Turrentine, Earl ”Fatha” Hines, Roy Eldridge and others.
After intermission, Ramsey Lewis and Kurt Elling will join the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to explore the music of Billy Strayhorn, George Benson, Ahmad Jamal and others. PSO bassist, Jeff Grubbs, will perform the Ray Brown Suite with the PSO. Throughout it all, watch for clips from the new PBS documentary film celebrating the Legacy of Jazz in Pittsburgh.
