Description

Toronto Theatrical Premiere of New 4k Restoration! 70th Anniversary Screening!

A down on his luck Samurai accepts a village’s request for protection against marauding bandits who continue to pillage their crops after harvest. Enlisting the help of 6 other samurai warriors to help him, they collectively teach the farmers and townspeople how to defend themselves in exchange for just three square meals a day, but will it be enough to take on a group of ruthless bandits over 40 strong?

Co-written, edited, and directed by the iconic Akira Kurosawa (RASHOMON), SEVEN SAMURAI is without a doubt one of the greatest, most influential films in the history of cinema. A solemn, yet adventurous film full of technical brilliance, humor, and sword-swinging action. Remade and referenced in countless Western films from THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN to the works of Sam Peckinpah and beyond, SEVEN SAMURAI returns to the silver screen with a brand new restoration just in time for its 70th Anniversary!
