Description

American Captain Benjamin Willard (Martin Sheen) is assigned to track down and kill Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando), who has reportedly massacred hundreds of innocent people and set up his own fiefdom in the jungle. Willard and his crew encounter strange sights and people on their surreal journey into the heart of darkness.

Directed by the legendary Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather, Megalopolis), Apocalypse Now was honored with the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, despite premiering in an unfinished state. The film received eight Academy Award® nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director (Coppola), and Best Supporting Actor (Duvall), ultimately winning Best Cinematography and Best Sound. Today, Apocalypse Now is celebrated as one of the greatest films ever made.
