MIDNIGHT IN PARIS + Live Music from Yvonnick Prené, world-renowned jazz
harmonica player
A special jazz-filled
afternoon of film and live music
Sunday, May 31st at 3 PM
$35 Public | $30 Members
Join us for an afternoon screening of Woody Allen’s Midnight
in Paris,
a film that captures Paris of the 1920s and 30s, a world of writers,
painters, musicians, cafés, and nightlife, where creativity thrived.
At the heart of
this cultural moment is Gypsy jazz, the influential style pioneered by
guitarist Django Reinhardt, who blended American swing with Romani traditions
and French musette. This timeless style weaves throughout the film, evoking the
charm and the magic of a bygone era.
After the screening, enjoy a live performance by chromatic
harmonica virtuoso Yvonnick Prene, featuring selections from his latest album Un Harmonica pour Django, inspired by this rich musical
tradition.
