Description

A gently barbed social satire about bigotry and redemption, Ghadi unfolds in a traditional Lebanese coastal town. After a difficult youth where he is teased for his stutter, Leba becomes a beloved music instructor and marries his childhood sweetheart Lara. Eventually, Lara gives birth to two beautiful daughters, followed by their son, Ghadi.

Ghadi is born with Down’s syndrome and he makes loud noises as he tries to imitate his father’s singing. Without much understanding of the disability, the village people start calling the boy a “demon”, and try to evict him from this town. Unwilling to send his son away to some institution, Leba hatches a clever plan to convince his neighbors to change their minds.
