Artist-turned-filmmaker Noaz Deshe’s debut feature is a shocking portrayal of the lucrative trade of albino body parts for their supposed restorative properties. (There is a saying in East Africa, “Albinos don’t die, they just disappear”.)
Alias is a young albino boy on the run after witnessing the death of his father at the hands of brutal muti harvesters. He escapes to the city under the care of his uncle, but Alias quickly learns the city is no safer than his home in the bush.
