Description

Director Melissa Donovan attending 4/14.

When the spirit holds fast to hope and courage, the impossible becomes possible. Zemene is a shy 10-year-old living in rural Ethiopia with a rare, life-threatening, curvature of the spine that limits her world, when a chance encounter with an American doctor enables her to secure medical attention and gain an education.

With her physical limitations lifted, and the confirmation that her life matters, she blossoms into a confident young woman, using her newly found capabilities to bring hope back to her village. Gorgeously filmed in the Ethiopian countryside, Zemene is a poignant testament to the strength of the human spirit – and a powerful depiction of how much impact one person can have on another’s life.
