Robert Frank established himself as one of the most influential photographers working today with his 1958 book The Americans and also demonstrated his iconoclastic panache as a filmmaker with films like the pulsing Beat short Pull My Daisy (1959) and Rolling Stones exposé Cocksucker Blues (1972). Frank’s longtime film editor Laura Israel makes the most of her close relationship with Frank and his work to create an appropriately unconventional portrait of the artist. Made over three years, Israel stylistically incorporates stills and clips from his work as well as original interviews that uniquely capture this one-of-a-kind man.
