Description

Gerard Depardieu and Isabelle Huppert play an estranged couple (appropriately, their last film together was Loulou in 1981) who come together for a week in Death Valley per a request in their son’s suicide note. Within the note, the two are given specific instructions to visit various tourist sites at various times with the promise that he will meet them for one last time. The stark landscape serves as an appropriate backdrop to this somewhat metaphysical and at times surreal exploration of parents coming to terms with their adult son’s untimely death.

Press

"Reunited onscreen after 35 years, Isabelle Huppert and Gerard Depardieu give life to this slight, metaphysical grief drama." - Variety
