Every emperor penguin is born with a special "heartsong," which they use to find a mate. Every penguin, that is, except for Mumble, who is born without a singing voice. His natural talent for tapdancing doesn't make up for it, either--most of the penguins think his "happy feet" make him a freak. But when Mumble's loneliness drives him out of his penguin colony, he finds a much wider and wilder world, and learns that his dancing might be the exact thing he needs save it.
