It's the Great Depression, and there are bills to pay. Clyde Barrow decides to make his money the more exciting way - through crime. When he tries to steal a car, the owner's daughter, Bonnie decides his life is more exciting than hers, and they team up to go on a crime spree together.
They don't really take off until they have a gang of their own: CW Moss, a gas station attendant; Buck, Clyde's brother; and, Blanche , Clyde's wife and the water to Bonnie's oil. Now that they have a crew, Bonnie and Clyde turn their attention to robbing banks. As if law enforcement doesn't have enough reason to catch them, the robberies soon turn violent.
Cops versus robbers was rarely so romantic, nor so tragic, nor so cinematically groundbreaking.
