Join us for a hilarious pre-Passover celebration with legendary comedy icon, best-selling author, and original Saturday Night Live writer Alan Zweibel, with his new Haggadah parody For This We Left Egypt? A Passover Haggadah for Jews and Those Who Love Them. Plus the joyfully irreverent all-gal "Isle of Klezbos" ensemble on stage!

Alan Zweibel, The New York Times says, has “earned a place in the pantheon of American pop culture.” Creating some of Saturday Night Live’s greatest characters – “Roseanne Roseannadanna” for best friend Gilda Radner (for whom he wrote the bestseller Bunny Bunny), “The Samurai” for John Belushi, etc., Alan has won numerous Emmys, Writers Guild of America and TV Critics awards, also for such programs as It’s Garry Shandling’s Show (which he co-created and produced), The Late Show with David Letterman (also appearing as guest 11 times) and Curb Your Enthusiasm.  His screenplays include Dragnet starring pal Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hanks, and The Story of Us with Bruce Willis and Michelle Pfeiffer. Theatrical credits include hit plays with pals Billy Crystal (earning a Tony) and Martin Short. Alan’s humor has appeared in The New Yorker, Esquire, The Atlantic Monthly, MAD Magazine and The New York Times Op-Ed page.

For This We Left Egypt? A Passover Haggadah for Jews and Those Who Love Them is a “to die for” parody Haggadah from the comedic minds by bestselling humorists Alan Zweibel, Dave Barry, and Adam Mansbach. Jews and non-Jewish guests who have lived through a Seder know the evening can last as long as the exodus from Egypt itself. This handy alternative Haggadah will help you along the journey - from setting the “chametz” on fire with a kosher blowtorch to confrontations with Pharaoh Schmuck, a burning bush that sounds like Morgan Freeman, and a Promised Land populated by venomous scorpions the size of Yorkshire terriers.  You eat a celebratory brisket, await a very drunk ghost named Elijah, and then take at least an hour to say goodbye.

Isle of Klezbos - the acclaimed all-gal Klezmer sextet founded by Eve Sicular - approaches tradition with irreverance and respect. Echoing performances on CBS Sunday Morning, CNN, The L-Word, and renowned concert halls from San Francisco to Vienna, the Isle of Klezbos will treat guests to a quartet version with clarinet and sax, trumpet, drums and accordion, performing Yiddish music ranging from rambunctious to entrancing, on stage and during the gala book-signing reception afterwards. http://www.klezbos.com/
