Due to circumstances beyond our control, we regret to inform that director Daniel Castro Zimbrón will not be able to attend.
In a dystopian future, an unnamed catastrophe has left the world in permanent twilight, blanketed by a toxic fog. Young Argel, along with his older brother, his little sister, and his father, live in a remote house deep within the forest where a strange and ravenous monster lays in wait, occasionally descending upon their house with thunderous fervor as they cower in the basement. When his older brother mysteriously disappears, Argel is desperate to find him, even if it means going out of the house by himself—an act strictly prohibited by his overbearing father. A moody apocalyptic horror film, The Darkness, according to director Daniel Castro Zimbrón, is a “…metaphor of the world in which we live, in which the beast represents the dangers outside the home as well as the dark side of human nature.”
