Description

Director Abbas Kiarostami, who passed away last summer, is best known for his work in the groundbreaking films A Taste of Cherry ('97), The Wind Will Carry Us ('99) and Certified Copy ('10), among many others. One of the director’s friends and collaborators, Seifollah Samadian, had been filming snippets of conversation, intimate behind-the-scenes moments, and quiet yet revealing passages of Kiarostami's creative processes. What is captured in this brief, stunning documentary of his footage is a man so happy with life that he could not for a moment ignore the beauty that was flowing around him. Tracking projects from Five Dedicated to Ozu ('03) to Certified Copy, 76 Minutes and 15 Seconds will not just give admirers of Kiarostami one last look at this brilliant auteur but will open viewers’ eyes to the possibilities in every moment.
