Description

In her final year in high school, Sara is at the end of trying to fit in with her classmates after three years of being a good sport. Caught between an overbearing mother and a father who seems acutely aware of what his daughter is going through, Sara is eager for change. School is absolutely dull, and so Sara skips classes, content to while away her afternoons in contemplation in a small alley alcove, smoking cigarettes and wondering where life will take her... to Quito, Ecuador, or somewhere else far, far away.

Enter Andrea, a new girl in school, who also seeks escape, and finds it in Sara’s little alley hideaway. Over cigarettes, live music, and conversation—or even, over no words at all—the two fast friends’ relationship grows deeper and deeper, until it becomes something that might just define their whole lives.
