Description

Thirty years ago, medical student Paul Farmer went to Haiti to help fight a tuberculosis outbreak, and bring health care to the island. Left alone by the international community and the Haitian government, the people there were unable to find even basic care. But Farmer was undeterred, and with Ophelia Dahl, a social activist, they fought not only to bring health care to Haiti, but to poor communities all over the planet.

Featuring interviews with Farmer, Dr. Jim Yong Kim (president of the World Bank), and Dr. Agnes Binagwaho (controversial Health Minister of Rwanda), Bending the Arc is a moving and often hilarious look at a very serious subject, and leaves you rooting for genuinely good people in these cynical times. “Bending the Arc unwinds as a stunning documentary about a team of young people whose charitable medical work 30 years ago in remote Haiti came to ignite a healthcare movement.” —The Hollywood Reporter
