Description

When Lieutenant-Colonel David Greenbaum finishes his stint in the Israeli army, he loses his focus: now he’s just a man seeking work, in charge of no one, barely in charge of his own fate. Taking a job at a dietary supplement company, he falls under the tutelage of a morally corrupt salesman, who teaches him that the world is dog-eat-dog. In the process, he is alienating his wife, Rina, and his two older kids, Omri and Yifat, an activist whose increasing commitment to the Palestinian cause is pushing her father to his breaking point. A controversial story of good people undermined by their own indifference, and a state that doesn’t seem to care for good people, Beyond the Mountain and the Hills is sure to provoke intense discussion. “[A] witty and finely tuned study of personal crises.” —The Hollywood Reporter
