Description

Quebecois director Chloé Robichaud directs this satire about three very different women who meet to hammer out a deal over the natural resources on Besco, a fictional Coastal Atlantic island. Félixe is a 25-year-old federal deputy, Danielle is the forty-something president of the island, and Emily is a top-notch mediator who is in her 30s. Despite their expertise, the women face chauvinist condescension, petty macho in-fighting, and constant reminders of their neglected personal lives.

Robichaud directs her excellent cast in a spirited insight into the gendering of professional ambition and determination, and the sacrifices that come into play for those who dare challenge the unjust status quo. “… [A] somewhat dry yet killer satire… Robichaud has an extraordinary feel for her characters as well as professional and personal duality, catching every minor gesture or phrase that might change the mood or the tenor of a conversation.” —AMoveableFest.com
