Description

Based on a true story, Fanny's Journey is an incredible tale of children’s bravery, strength and survival. In 1943, 11 year-old Fanny and her younger sisters were taken to a ‘safe-zone’ boarding school by their persecuted parents in hopes that they could stay sheltered from the war. Soon after, the children are forced to go into hiding in an Italian country home. When the Nazis arrive, their foster caretakers desperately organize the departure of the Jewish children to Switzerland.

Smuggled onto a train, their escape plan is thwarted and Franny must accept responsibility for completing their journey as the oldest child. Left on their own, these eleven children must do the impossible to escape across the Swiss border. Facing down her fears, Fanny navigates life or death choices, trusting her instincts and keeping her ultimate faith in humanity as she shepherds the young children to freedom.

Recommended for age 12+
