Description

A trio of women in Tel Aviv live life to the fullest in this rollicking debut comedy by Maysaloun Hamoud. Salma, Laila and Nur are roommates, Palestinians with Israeli citizenship who love the nightlife and opportunities of a big city, and leave their home villages behind without looking back.

Chain-smoking Laila is a sharp attorney by day, an equally adept partier by night. When she meets cosmopolitan filmmaker Ziad, sparks fly—until she discovers that he’s not as open-minded as he seems. Salma makes her conservative Christian family lose their minds when she brings home a woman she’s dating—on the same weekend she’s supposed to be meeting a potential husband. With her hijab, Nour seems the model conservative, but in reality she wants city life and the respect of a good job—until her arrogant fiancé arrives on the scene hoping to change her ways, only to run headlong into trouble with her roommates.
