Description

BRIGSBY BEAR
Starring Mark Hamill, Claire Danes, and Andy Samberg

Brigsby Bear Adventures is a children's TV show produced for an audience of one: James. When the show abruptly ends, James' life changes forever, he sets out to finish the story himself and must learn to cope with the realities of a new world that he knows nothing about.

All 25-year-old James (Saturday Night Live's Kyle Mooney) knows in this world are his mother and father (Jane Adams and Mark Hamill), the walls of the bunker they live in and VHS episodes of Brigsby Bear, whose catchphrases include "curiosity is an unnatural emotion" and "trust only the familial unit.". One day, his home is invaded by federal agents, and his parents arrested. James learns that the people he believed to be his parents were in fact his kidnappers. On top of that, Brigsby Bear was a brainwashing tool produced by his abductors, created for an audience of one. Brigsby Bear is an offbeat ode to the pleasures and pains of extreme fandom and the importance of the stories we tell. (USA, 2017, 97 min., English, PG-13, DCP | Dir. Dave McCary)
