Description

Special Two-Week Engagement
Much Oscar buzz about Gary Oldman's performance. From Sid Vicious to Winston Churchill. Who could have predicted?
We know Winston Churchill today as a complicated figure who helped inspire a nation to never surrender during WWII, but Darkest Hour shows us the earlier Churchill, the one who had a record many described as "catastrophic," who wouldn't have been called charming by his own mother, who doesn't have the faith of his king or even his own party. He gets the chance to prove himself sooner than he wants - within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, the Nazis and his own government try to force him to negotiate a peace treaty with Nazi Germany.

The country could be invaded by Nazis in a matter of days. The British public is completely unprepared. Churchill knows that he needs a miracle to save the country. He doesn't have a miracle, but when has that ever stopped Winston Churchill?
