SPRING BREAK CAMP AT THE PICTURE HOUSE REGIONAL FILM CENTER

SPOTLIGHT ON POETRY

The sidewalk ends at The Picture House this spring break as we celebrate National Poetry Month and bring poems to life on screen. Emerging filmmakers, young actors, and wordsmiths will be inspired by different, well-known (age appropriate) poems each day. Under the guidance of professional film educators, kids in grades K-2 and 3-5 will learn movie-making techniques, show off their acting skills, and use their imaginations to create short films inspired by timeless poetry. Whether it’s the silliness of Shel Silverstein, the dark side of Edgar Allen Poe, or the whimsy of e.e. cummings, there’s something for everyone at our Spotlight on Poetry Spring Break Camp!

Sign-up for the whole week or just a day or two, new poets will be introduced each day. Camp will run from 9:00 a.m. to noon each day with an extended day option available. Bring a lunch, we’ll eat together, and stay for popcorn and a family-friendly movie. Extended day dismisses from The Picture House lobby at 2:30pm. Email education@thepicturehouse.org with any questions.
