Shankar’s use of the sitar and accompanying Indian instruments brought new rhythms to Western music and expanded the options available to rock musicians.

Ravi Shankar inspired such Rock and Roll greats as the Beatles’ guitarist George Harrison, the Rolling Stones, Traffic, the Yardbirds, the Moody Blues, the Lemon Pipers, Donovan, and the Stylistics. Shankar was a favorite in festivals like Woodstock, Monterey Pop, and the Concert for Bangladesh. As a result, Shankar turned a generation of Westerners on to Eastern music.
Approx. 100 minutes.
