This salute to Tom Waits celebrates music that has been covered by Bruce Springsteen, Rod Stewart, and Bonnie Raitt, as well as performed by Waits with haunting sincerity.

American singer-songwriter, musician, composer and actor, Tom Waits has a distinctive voice and gift for creating memorable characters, places, and circumstances in his music that reflects extraordinary pain, joy, and wisdom, all at once. His music embraces influences from rock, blues, and jazz, creating his own style that defies pigeonholing. This program will focus on some of Mr. Waits’ performances from the 1970’s that established him as an artist who has been nominated and won Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Included will be “Romeo Is Bleeding,” “Small Change,” “Annie’s Back in Town,” and the classic “Christmas Card From a Hooker in Minneapolis.” Approx. 110 minutes.
