Seventy years since 700,000 Palestinians were displaced by Israel, the film 1948 digs through the archives and interviews those who lived through it to tell the the story of one of the most controversial moments in recent history. The film lays out the events of 1948 and the establishment of Israel as a state in Palestine, providing the history and context that helps make sense of what is happening today. Through riveting and moving personal recollections of both Palestinians and Israelis who lived through the events of that year, this documentary captures interviews with those and presents a last opportunity for them to narrate their stories of the expulsion of a people and a nation.
