The most personal project to date from Academy Award®-winning director and writer Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity, Children of Men, Y Tu Mama Tambien), Roma follows Cleo (Yalitza Aparicio), a young domestic worker for a family in the middle-class neighborhood of Roma in Mexico City. Delivering an artful love letter to the women who raised him, Cuarón draws on his own childhood to create a vivid and emotional portrait of domestic strife and social hierarchy amidst political turmoil of the 1970s.
Cuarón’s first project since the groundbreaking Gravity in 2013, Roma is Mexico's official submission to the 2019 Oscars® for Best Foreign Language Film.

El proyecto más personal hasta la feha del director y escritor galardonado con el premio Oscar de la Academia®, Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity, Children of Men, Y Tu Mamá También), Roma sigue la historia de Cleo (Yalitza Aparicio), una joven empleada doméstica que trabaja para una familia de clase media en el barrio Roma, en Ciudad de México. En esta hermosa carta de amor a las mujeres que lo criaron, Cuarón se inspira en su propia infancia para crear un retrato vívido y emocional de las luchas domésticas y de la jerarquía social en medio de la vorágine política de la década de 1970.
Este es el primer proyecto de Cuarón desde la innovadora Gravity, de 2013. Roma es la candidata oficial de México para los Premios Oscar® de 2019 en la categoría de Mejor Película en Lengua Extranjera.
