Description

Director Gabriela Calvache Attending!

She is the perfect woman until she decides to be free. Gabriela Calvache's latest feature, The Longest Night (La Mala Noche) is a fearless and eye-opening look inside the world of human trafficking and the mafia underworld, focusing one woman's quest for justice. After being forced to hand over her income, Dana (Noëlle Schönwald) appears to be caught in the web of a human trafficking ring and its leader. Drug addicted and worried about her young daughter's illness, Dana fears that she can't just leave. As a new opportunity presents itself, she may soon realize that the power to exact justice on her oppressors is hers to claim. An utterly human thriller, Calvache's film makes sure to keep the sobering reality at the forefront of her narrative–there are nearly twenty-one million human trafficking victims worldwide.
