Bong Joon Ho’s newest work, Parasite, became the first Korean film to win the Palme d’Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. In anticipation of its coming release, we take a look at one of the classic films from the repertoire of the acclaimed filmmaker, the neo-noir crime drama, Memories of Murder.

In a small Korean province in 1986, two simple-minded detectives, Park (Song Kang-ho) and Cho (Kim Roi-ha) are assigned to a double murder investigation. But when the murderer strikes several more times with the same pattern, the detectives realize that they are chasing the country's first documented serial killer. Relying on only their basic skills and tools, Park and Jo attempt to piece together the clues and solve the case. (South Korea, 2003, 131 Mins, Korean & English | Dir. Bong Joon Ho)
