Tuesday, 3/17 at 7:30 pm | Members $11 | Public $16

During the silent era, the film industry was not the ‘boys club’ it gradually became. Many women worked steadily as film directors, and were considered among the top directors in the industry. Join us for an entertaining evening of newly- restored films directed by Alice Guy Blache (Tramp Strategy / 1911), Lois Weber (Fine Feathers / 1912), Grace Cunard (The Purple Mask, Episode 12 “Vault of Mystery” / 1917), Cleo Madison (Her Defiance / 1916), and Nell Shipman (The Light on Lookout Mountain / 1926). Restorations by Kino Lorber, the Library of Congress, and Undercrank Productions.

Ben Model is one of America’s leading silent film accompanists, and has been playing piano and organ for silent films at the New York MoMA since 1984, and the CAC since 2006.
