On the edge of financial ruin, a desperate widow accepts a marriage proposal whose consequences could destroy her son.

Weighed down by ever-worsening sanctions, life in Iran has become increasingly grim. Leila works at a factory, struggling to make ends meet. To make matters worse, rumors have it that the factory is soon to shut its doors. Enter Kazem, a bus driver who has financial security and who proposes marriage to Leila. However, Leila has a 12-year-old son and Kazem has a daughter of the same age, and their small community and religious beliefs dictate that the boy must be placed in another family, since having unmarried, unrelated teenagers under the same roof would be a no-no. Documentary filmmaker Mahnaz Mohammadi has crafted a heartbreaking and compassionate film that will leave viewers astounded.
