Director Biography
David Garrett Byars made his directorial debut with No Man's Land (2017), a documentary about the 2016 standoff with federal agents at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Public Trust (2020) is his most recent film.

David Garrett Byars’s Public Trust pulls back the curtain to reveal the machinations behind efforts to steal and manipulate these lands, to drain them of natural resources or outright take them. The director travels to Alaska, into the red rock canyons of southern Utah, and north to Minnesota’s Boundary Waters, and exposes a land war going on under our very noses.
