About the Film

On August 1st, 2007, the sudden collapse of the I-35W bridge in downtown Minneapolis shaped a community. Spencer Patzman’s debut documentary follows the many personal stories of one tragedy and the countless ways it is felt more than 12 years later.

Showcasing never-before-seen archival footage, Bridge interweaves the accounts of survivors, first responders, civilians, politicians, social workers, attorneys, and spouses. It is a reminder of all that was lost, and a testament to what can be overcome. Bridge gives a voice to those whose stories of struggle and rebuilding are as poignant today as they were the days following August 1st, 2007. A moving and thoughtful documentary about one of Minnesota’s most defining tragedies.
