Virtual Sky Room Talk – Live Zoom Lecture Program
The Art and Films of David Lynch – a 2-hour lecture program hosted by film historian
and producer Greg Blank
Thursday, November 19th at 8:00 PM - Zoom Invitation Link
provided in Email Order Confirmation
Public $10 | Members $7
David Lynch is an American artist and filmmaker
whose career has left a legacy of one of the most bizarre, surreal, and unique
bodies of work of any filmmaker alive today. His films include such
classics as Eraserhead (1977), The Elephant Man (1980), Blue Velvet (1986), and Mulholland Drive
(2001). Through an examination of clips from his films, documentary
interviews, and critical analysis, and his paintings, short films and other
visual art, we will explore his imagery and motifs of his dream-like
filmmaking, his exploration of the subconscious in both his films and his
visual art, and his career as a whole – its influences in European cinema and
his influence on filmmakers around the world today.
Greg Blank is a filmmaker, film
historian and lecturer with over 15 years of experience as producer, director,
cinematographer, and editor. He has won awards as a video journalist for
the show “Push Pause Long Island” on Verizon Fios1, and as a documentarian for
his film “Undocumented”, and “A World Within a World: The Bay Houses of Long
Island.”
