Director Biography

Julie Anne KoehnenA graduate of LA’s Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Koehnen left a successful editing career in Los Angeles which included working for the NFL Network to pursue filmmaking and screenwriting full time. Raising the Dead (a.k.a. Don’t Tell), her full-length feature, was successfully produced by Peer Oppenheimer Productions, and starred Alison Eastwood. She was recently awarded both the Metro Regional Arts Council grant and the Artist Initiative Grant. Her work has been curated by the Film Fatales for exhibition at the Walker Art Center. Currently, she is in development for her television series Summit Avenue inspired by James J. Hill, and continues to work on a psychological thriller feature, A Slip of the Knot. In her spare time, Julie loves to dance and is currently learning the Balboa.
