Unfolding through a pattern of memories from past to present, the gothic tale of ORIANA is now regarded a classic of Latin American cinema in the tradition of magical realism, the debut feature by Venezuelan filmmaker Fina Torres. Oriana’s return to her family plantation hacienda in rural Venezuela, where she was part of three generations of women, leads to mysterious memories of her budding sexuality and more.
