The Dreamland Stage Company is proud to present the live
stage production of 1984 by George Orwell. This powerful and provocative play
depicts the fate of humanity when society becomes a place where Big Brother is
always watching and where everything is either prohibited or compulsory.
Orwell himself once said, “I do not believe that the kind of
society I describe necessarily will arrive, but I believe that something resembling
it could arrive. The moral to be drawn from the dangerous nightmare situation
is a simple one: Don’t let it happen. It depends on you.”
1984 is presented through special arrangement with Dramatists
Play Service as part of The Dreamland Foundation Educational Outreach
Production Series.
