Description

Living with Bears

My Neighbour Is a Bear
: A rare Marsican bear family wanders down from the Italian Apennines to the charming village of Villalago, looking for food in the local orchards. For most people this might arouse concern, but for the residents of Villalago it is a rather different story.

Valley of the Bears: A documentary set in the coastal valley of Bella Coola, British Columbia, during the summer months of the salmon run. A coexistence way of living between humans and bears is being adopted, however human-bear conflict is on the rise. Directed and Produced by Rob Murray.

Sponsored by UM Wildlife Biology.

Tribute & reception at the UC Theater, hosted by the UM Wildlife Biology Department. Doors open at 6:00, screening begins at 6:30.

A panel discussion with Valley of the Bears filmmaker Rob Murray, Blackfoot Challenge Executive Director Seth Wilson, conservation photographer and videographer Rob Green, MT Fish, Wildlife, and Parks Wildlife Management Specialist James Jonkel, and MT Fish, Wildlife, and Parks Bear Conflict Management Specialist Justine Vallieres will follow the screening.

This IWFF screening event is free. Seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis with doors open at 6:00 pm. Typically, the 250-person theater does fill up, so please come early.
