Description

Across two continents, Elizabeth Unger’s harrowing documentary eco-thriller tracks different sides of the illegal trade in jaguar teeth that is threatening this beloved big cat. Marcos Uzquiano, director of Bolivia’s Madidi National Park, chases poachers and leads undercover operations. Meanwhile, Hong Kong journalist Laurel Chor investigates the reasons for the rising demand for jaguar teeth in China.

Uzquiano considers his work at Madidi National Park a calling, and his determination, bravery and grit are in full use as he works to stop poachers. Enter Laurel Chor, the Hong Kong journalist tracking the selling of illegal jaguar teeth across China. Director Elizabeth Unger takes viewers deep into this labyrinthian trade that goes from South America to Asia and back, and not only exposes wrongdoing, but tries to explain its root causes.
