About this event
Colored pencil is a
user-friendly and fun medium. Students will create a still-life drawing using a
trompe l’oeil technique. Trompe l’oeil means making an object look so real that
you feel like you could pick it up off of the page. We will work with the grain
of the page and wax blooming as techniques in colored pencil.
Public funding provided by Suffolk County.
*Class must have minimum 5 students to run. Please
contact SEAofVisibility@gmail.com 24 hours in advance to check on status.
SEA of Visibility
Integrative Arts Education supports mental-wellness through socially conscious,
multi-disciplinary arts programming. Our classes and open studios are inclusive
of neuro-diverse and neurotypical students and provide a safe space to create
expressively.
Mission Statement
SEA of Visibility is
an organization that embraces BIPOC, queer and disabled artists and allies,
focusing on neurodiversity and mental health. It “Supports Expression through
the Arts” (SEA) and promotes de-stigmatization and integration through
multidisciplinary arts exhibitions, performances and art-making programs. It
provides peer and professional support and offers coping and compensatory
strategies for its participants, helping to create art that broadens the
greater community’s vision of what mental illness is.
