40th
Anniversary!
FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT
HIGH
Thursday, July 28th at 7:30 PM
REGULAR ADMISSION
Exclusively for the 40th Anniversary, screenings will feature a pre-recorded Q&A with director Amy Heckerling and Paul Thomas Anderson, whose 2021 film Licorice Pizza was inspired by Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
The most outrageous, era-defining comedy of its time,
Universal Pictures’ Fast Times at
Ridgemont High returns to theaters for its 40th Anniversary. In August
1982, more than a decade before she wrote and directed Clueless, filmmaker Amy
Heckerling made her directorial debut alongside first-time screenwriter and
future Oscar winner Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous) with this iconic, inside
view of teenage American life. The all-star cast includes future Academy Award
winner Sean Penn, future Oscar
nominee Jennifer Jason Leigh, Phoebe Cates, Judge Reinhold and Ray
Walston. Fast Times also
marked the film debut of future Academy Award winner Nicolas Cage and co-starred future Emmy winner Anthony Edwards (ER) and
future Oscar winner Forest Whitaker.
This hilarious portrayal of Southern California high school students and their
favorite subjects— sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll—features a classic soundtrack
that includes hits from The Go-Go’s, Oingo Boingo, and The Cars. Four decades
later, Universal Pictures’ Fast
Times at Ridgemont High remains as bold, daring and funny as it was a
generation ago.
