Join Rock Legends Live! Host Bill Shelley for a
music-filled celebration of the late, great Australian singer and actress Olivia Newton-John.
Born in England before moving to Australia as a child,
Olivia quickly found a passion for performing. Fame came in the 1970s when
England’s 1974 Eurovision contest awarded her 4th place for the
song “Long Live Love.” Newton-John earned a recording contract and soon had a
string of #1 hit records around the world, including a cover of Bob
Dylan’s “If Not for You” and “I Honestly Love You.”
During her long career, Olivia also collaborated with such popular stars
as John Denver, ELO, and Andy Gibb.
Acting soon followed as she gave an award winning, iconic
performance as Sandy, in the movie version of the Broadway hit Grease,
opposite John Travolta. She also was in the musical Xanadu with
one of her favorite movie stars, Gene Kelly. Although Xanadu was
a commercial failure, it has developed a large cult following in subsequent
years.
Our tribute will include many clips from concerts,
television and movies. Songs will include “Physical,” “Summer
Nights,” “Have You Never Been Mellow?,” “Let Me Be There,” “You’re The
One That I Want,” “Hopelessly Devoted To You,” and “Magic”
– plus many more favorites! (approx. 100min.)
