Description

Sandra (Léa Seydoux) is a widowed young mother raising her daughter alone, while also caring for her sick father. She’s dealing with the loss of the relationship she once had with her father, while fighting to get him the care he requires. At the same time, Sandra reconnects with Clément (Melvil Poupaud), a friend she hasn’t seen in a while and, although he’s married, their friendship soon blossoms into a passionate affair.

Mia Hansen-Løve started as an actress and a critic. Her first feature All is Forgiven (2006) premiered at the Cannes Film Festival's Director's Fortnight section, was nominated for the César Award for Best First Film, and won the Louis Delluc Prize in the same category. Her 2016 film Things to Come won the Silver Bear for Best Filmmaker in Berlin, along with 7 other international awards. The same year, she also became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences after which she shot her first English language film Bergman Island, (2021) starring Vicky Krieps, Tim Roth and Mia Wasikowska.
