Description

Tired of the corrupt politicians driving Uganda into the ground, pop star Robert Kyagulanyi, Bobi Wine to his millions of adoring fans, makes a daring run for president in directors Moses Bwayo and Christopher Sharp’s rousing documentary.

For over three decades, Yoweri Museveni has been the corrupt President of Uganda, jailing and torturing anyone who dares to speak out. Enter Bobi Wine, one of Uganda’s great musical artists with a tremendous worldwide following. Unwilling to hide behind his fame, the charismatic Bobi Wine has run for office, openly criticized the government, and, like others before him, paid the price with imprisonment. But as the National Resistance Movement party has expanded its influence, Bobi Wine decided to run for president. Moses Bwayo and Christopher Sharp’s documentary was filmed somewhat in secret (many of its crew worked anonymously for fear of reprisals), but has already inspired countless people to find hope in the future.
