And now, we celebrate the 90th anniversary of one of the first "screwball" comedies; one of the most influential of all romantic comedies; and one of the last pre-code comedies. It is a movie that Capra, Colbert and Gable did not want to make but was the first movie to sweep the Oscars (Best Picture, Actor, Actress, Director) and for the last ninety years has been embraced as "one of the great American films."
