The Club Foot Orchestra is a San Francisco institution! Founded in 1983 by Richard Marriott, and named after a nightclub in the Bayview where they became the house band, Club Foot played dramatic, complex music in San Francisco clubs and then became known for their equally dramatic and complex scores for classic silent movies. Pioneers of modern music for silent film, Club Foot reconvenes at the Castro Theatre on September 15 for an entire day of silent-era masterpieces with their brilliant, moving, evocative accompaniment. The New Yorker says, “This is music that bubbles up from the intersection of aesthetics and the id.”
