Join us in warmly welcoming our friends and neighbors to the south, Mexico’s Morelia International Film Festival, who recently celebrated their 15th anniversary. We are showcasing and saluting shorts that innovatively highlight Latin American culture and demonstrate that art has no borders. In Bzzz, a little girl recognizes that buzz and hum are essential to all life in this cross-pollinating tale; Elena and the Shadows (Elena y las sombras) follows Elena’s old, empty, loney neighborhood until Félix enters her orbit and shows her how to access other universes; Rain in the Eyes (Lluvia en los Ojos) is a fantastical stop-motion animation set amidst hides tough and tender, seven-year-old Sofía recalls the day she fractured her arm while being chased through the forest; And Tintico’s Afternoons (Las Tardes de Tintico) highlights a group of mosquitoes under the beautiful Quebrada cliff in Acapulco, crazy for tropical music while bringing happiness back into a rumba director's life; and so much moreRecommended ages: 7+
