World View - Global Cinema at the Roxy
This spring, The Roxy Theater is proud to bring you WORLD VIEW: CULTURES IN HARMONY - five films which highlight and celebrate the unifying power of music around the world. Hosted by Global and Cultural Affairs in Arts Missoula, and presented free of charge.

Nominated for three Emmys, this critically acclaimed documentary traces the evolution and turbulent birth of Paul Simon's landmark album, Graceland. Graceland is considered by many to be one of the most important albums of all time - for its musical mastery, its innovative sound and the foundational way it brought together the music of two very different cultures. The album elevated global awareness of South African music and politics, and created a watershed moment in musical fusion. It has even been suggested that the global attention that Graceland brought to the culture helped usher in the end of Apartheid. Produced for the album's 25th anniversary, this film follows Simon on his current tour and travels with him to South Africa to revisit the people, places, and music that first inspired him.

World View is sponsored by Rideg Law Firm and US Bank. Under African Skies is sponsored by International Rescue Committee and Soft Landing.
