Is this Heaven? No, it's Iowa. A corn farmer, hearing voices, interprets them as a command to build a baseball diamond in his fields; he does, and ballplaers emerge from the cornfields, one of them carrying a special connection.

As we toast to FilmScene's growth and The Chauncey's Grand Opening Weekend, we commemorate the 30th anniversary of the beloved Field of Dreams, still magical after all these years. Together we built it, now you can come!
"A delicate movie that has the courage to be about exactly what it promises." - Roger Ebert
"Field of Dreams sustains a dreamy mood in which the idea of baseball is distilled to its purest essence: a game that stands for unsullied innocence in a cruel, imperfect world." - Variety
When Iowa farmer Ray (Kevin Costner) hears a mysterious voice one night in his cornfield saying, "If you build it, he will come," he feels the need to act. Despite taunts of lunacy, Ray builds a baseball diamond on his land, supported by his wife (Amy Madigan). Afterward, the ghosts of great baseball players start emerging from the crops to play ball, led by "Shoeless" Joe Jackson. But, as Ray learns, this field of dreams is about much more than bringing baseball greats out to play.
