Rock star Prince plays “the Kid”, a headstrong, vulnerable young musician who leads his band The Revolution in 1984 Minneapolis. After meeting aspiring singer Apollonia (Apollonia Kotero), the Kid discovers that talent alone isn’t all he needs to succeed but his jealous and violent behavior – common in his toxic household – threatens to wreck the Revolution and any hope of keeping Apollonia from the clutches of Morris Day. Purple Rain’s score deservedly won an Academy Award and the titular album won a Grammy. About Prince’s first starring role, Cynthia Kirk of Variety writes, “Playing a character rooted in his own background, and surrounded by the real-life members of his Minneapolis-based musical ‘family,’ rock star Prince makes an impressive feature film debut... a rousing contemporary addition to the classic backstage musical genre.”

Let’s go crazy and rock out with Prince and Purple Rain-inspired karaoke starting at 11:00 pm, just before the feature film presentation.
